Beginner photographed starry sky with SONY α 6000 (SIGMA 16mm F1.4 DC DN)

camera(星空撮影)
Pocket

Recently, I bought SONY α6000. because I wanted to shoot the starry sky.

As a result of various investigations the lens.

I bought

“SIGMA 16mm F1.4 DC DN”

Reasons for choosing E-mount lens [SIGMA 16mm F1.4 DC DN]

It is a bright lens

A bright lens is essential for shooting the starry sky.

The lower the F value, the brighter the image.

This lens is F1.4 quite bright.

It is a wide-angle lens

I chose a wide-angle lens because I wanted to shoot “Meteor shower” and “Milky Way”.

This lens is 16mm.

The smaller this value, the wider the angle.

Auto focus function

It seems that the basics of starry sky photography are to focus manually.

But it’s better to have an autofocus function than not.

In fact, all the images on this page use autofocus.

REPUTATION

I checked variously before buying, but the lens itself has a pretty good reputation.

There were many opinions that “it is excellent in cospa”,

The actual image was also beautiful.

There were few images of the starry sky taken with this lens on the web, so I attached some of them.

I would appreciate it if you could refer to it.

This is a photo taken by a beginner using auto focus.

You can take better pictures

Comparison image with E 35mm/F1.8 (SEL35F18C)

Please refer to how different the shooting range is when the angle of view is different.

I would like to compare 16mm and 35mm.

SIGMA 16mm F1.4 DC DN

Compare  SIGMA 16mm F1.4 DC DN with SONYE1.8/35mm

The difference in the angle of view between 16 mm and 35 mm is such an image.

The red box indicates the shooting range of the 35 mm lens.

If you are shooting “meteor shower” or “Milky Way”, 16mm lens is better.

Summary

I bought this time

SIGMA 16mm F1.4 DC DN

You can shoot quite brightly.

I think there was a picture of the guardrail and the road,

Actually, the scene is pitch black.

But it looks so bright.

This time the shutter speed is set from 6 seconds to 8 seconds.

Even if you squeeze it a little and increase the shutter speed,

I think you will be able to take a satisfactory picture.

Now is the time when a beginner can shoot a starry sky using auto focus.

Thanks for the advances in camera technology! !

If the opportunity arises

I also want to try shooting the “Milky Way”.

Thank you for reading to the end…
